Yolanda Yu beat Sophia Nesbitt in a play-off after both tied on 85 points during the NCBA Nairobi Local Tour US Kids golf at Windsor Golf Club.

The event was initially scheduled for Thika Sports but was moved due to an unplayable course following the ongoing rain.

Yolanda was happy to beat her more experienced opponent in the girls' 13-14-year-old category.

“I feel under pressure whenever I play Nesbitt since she is more experienced. She wins a lot of competitions and has a longer golfing age than me. Her tempo is way better than mine, but I did it,” Yu said.

The second category to be decided via playoff was the boys' 12-year-old category where George Ikirima beat Jeff Kivi following a tie of 82 points in regular play.

“I wanted to win and climb up the ranks since I was 10 points behind my opponents,” said Ikirima.

The tournament moves to Royal Nairobi Golf Club this weekend.
