Kisumu National Polytechnic lifted the floorball title with Kisii National Polytechnic finishing second. Last year’s winner Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) settled for the third position.

Kisii National Polytechnic clinched both the men’s and women’s table tennis titles. They also reigned supreme in badminton.

The winners in floorball, badminton, table tennis, and the top two in athletics will represent Lake Region at the KATTISO nationals to be held at Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) on May 8-11.

The event was initially scheduled for Nyayo National Stadium but was moved to RVIST.

Kenya Technical Training Institutes chairman for Sports and Recreation told the Lake Region team to challenge North and South Rift regions during nationals.

“We have selected a very strong team. I want to warn South and North Rift regions that we shall give them a run for their money. We selected a better team than last year and so we expect better performance,” said Owoko.

He announced that KATTISO will for the first time enter athletes at the national athletics championships to be held at Nyayo National Stadium from May 16-18.

“We want to give our athletes exposure. We have talented athletes in technical training institutions who can represent the country at international level,” said Owoko.

KATISSO Lake Region Secretary, Edward Sogoni, said the event was successful. “It was an incident-free event. I want to thank our sponsors who are principals of the institutions, the officials and the hosts Asumbi TTC. We have now turned our focus to the nationals.”
