Kenya Railways to hold sensitisation workshop on June 7

The half day meeting targets youth, women and persons living with disabilities.

Kenya Railways has announced that it will hold a sensitisation workshop for youth, women and persons living with disabilities on June 12, 2024.

The workshop will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in the Arberdares Conference Room from 9 am to 1 pm.

"In conformity with the requirements by the government of Kenya policy on allocating 30 per cent of procurement opportunities to special/disadvantaged groups and 40 per cent of locally sourced items; KR intends to hold a half day sensitisation workshop for the aforementioned," KR said.

In the notice published on My Gov copy of May 7, the Kenya Railways said the exercise aims to enhance awareness, build capacity, increase transparency and promote competition in the corporations’ procurement process.

The Corporation requested the interested persons to register their interest to participate on or before Friday, June 7, 2024 by sending an email to; [email protected] and, eligible citizen and local contractors through [email protected].

The email contents should include the participant's name, national identification number or passport number, business name/institution name, telephone number, and email address.

Kenya Railways is a state corporation whose main mandate is to promote, facilitate and participate in the national and metropolitan railway development.
